「職業カード」(ENGLISH JOB CARD)を使ってゲーム感覚で関係代名詞の定着を目指す
「職業カード」(ENGLISH JOB CARD)は、関係代名詞thatを使ったパターンプラクティスのための教材です。
80種類のカードには、日常的なものから専門的なものまで幅広い職業が登場し、文法練習と社会理解を一体化した学習展開が可能になります。
カードの英文はすべて「What do you call a person that ～?」という共通パターンで構成しているので、反復練習を通して関係代名詞の使い方を自然に身につけることができます。

＜教材のねらい＞
①関係代名詞を含む英文を繰り返し使うことで、文法構造の定着を図る。
②社会を支える多様な職業を知り、働く人への感謝や社会への関心を高める。
カードを使った活動は生徒にとっても楽しく、ゲーム性を加えることで英語への苦手意識を和らげ、積極的な発話を促す効果が期待されます。
また、短時間の「帯活動」として毎時間の授業に取り入れることで、生徒はさまざまな相手と繰り返しやり取りを行い、英語でのコミュニケーションに慣れていくことができるでしょう。
＜活動例＞
初級＜正解数で競う＞
●生徒全員に1枚ずつカードを配布して、その質問文を暗唱させる。
（時間を確保して読めない単語の発音などを確認しながら確実に暗唱）
●3分間の活動時間の中で教室内を自由に移動し、カードを見ずに互いに問題を出し合う。
（どうしてもわからない場合はカードを見てよいが、読み上げるのではなく、原則、覚えた文を発話させるのがベター。負荷が高いが定着が早い。）
●正解数を確認し、5つ以上正解できた生徒にスタンプなどで表彰する。
中級＜STEAL JOBS GAME＞
●各生徒に2〜3枚ずつカードを配布し、一定時間内に自由に移動して問題を出し合う。
●正解した場合は相手のカードをもらい、カードがなくなったら先生のところで問題に答えて補充する。
●終了後に「ラッキーナンバー」や「ラッキージョブ」を発表し、該当者にスタンプを押すなどの工夫で盛り上げる。（※抽選アプリなどを活用）
80種類の職業の中には難しい語彙も含まれるため、職業名を日本語で答えることを許可するのも効果的です。
本教材の最大のねらいは、職業名を完璧に覚えることではなく、関係代名詞を含む英文を何度も使う中で文型に慣れ、自然に使えるようになることです。
80種のすべての問題を一覧にした「職業クイズリスト」を配布してもOK。家庭で練習して自信を持って活動に参加できます。
